Job Description:
Purpose: This position is responsible for the oversight and
direction of the CNA+, Certified Caregiver and Assisted Living
Manager programs including supervision of all clinical, classroom,
and skills instructors.Category: Variable HourReports to: Senior
Vice President, Business Development & StrategyCompensation:
Starting at $63,585.41 (Dependent upon relevant education,
experience, and preferred qualifications).Major Duties &
Responsibilities:
- Supervises and evaluates the program on an ongoing basis and
shares evaluations with instructors and administrators during
monthly staff meetings.
- Ensures instructors meet Board qualifications by reviewing
applications, resumes, background histories, and conducting
interviews.
- Determines the required ratio for classroom and skills
instruction to maintain compliance.
- Ensures the program adheres to Article 8 of the Rules of the
State Board of Nursing, the NCIA board, and federal clinical
facility requirements.
- Fills in as an instructor when needed in the absence of a
scheduled instructor.
- Assists in developing a curriculum that stays current and
relevant to CGTI student needs.
- Provides orientation to new students, including a review of the
Student Handbook and expectations for classroom, skills, and
clinical performance.
- Reviews student attendance, exam results, pass/fail rates,
participation, and progress, and addresses areas of concern with
students.
- Assists in developing strategies to improve the curriculum and
overall program.
- Assists the Vice President in overseeing, planning,
implementing, directing, and managing all functions and resources
within the agency program.
- Manages, guides, and provides leadership to a team of staff
regarding workload, assignments, resources, training, and
performance.
- Oversees the hiring, terminating, training, developing,
performance review, and corrective action plans for staff.
- Assists in the development and administration of budgets,
policies, projects, and programs within the agency.
- Analyzes program needs and trends, reviews statistics and
opportunities, and communicates to both executive leadership and
reporting staff as needed.
- Ensures that work adheres to local, state, and federal
governmental regulations, and other applicable rules and
requirements.
- Facilitates individual and team meetings and huddles and
ensures staff attends required trainings and agency-related
events.
- Uses virtual collaboration platforms to perform work as
necessary (e.g. Zoom or Teams).Qualifications:An equivalent
combination of education and experience related to the position may
be considered.
- At least four (4) years of experience in program development,
implementation, and management; five (5) years is preferred.
- At least one (1) year of experience in a lead or supervisory
capacity; two (2) years is preferred.Additional
Qualifications:
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must successfully obtain and maintain AZ Level 1 Fingerprint
Clearance and Central Registry background clearance.Knowledge,
Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Arizona Board of Nursing, National Care
Institution Administrators and Workforce Innovation and
Opportunities Act compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of business acumen, including principles involved in
strategic planning, resource allocation, and program management
within a non-profit setting.
- Knowledge of the aging process, issues, and health problems
associated with aging and disabilities.
- Skill in using Microsoft Office suite and virtual collaboration
platforms.
- Ability to be an active, positive, and contributing member of
the Management Team.
- Ability to coach, guide, and support staff to optimize
productivity and morale.
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to the vision, mission, and
values of Pima Council on Aging and its family of non-profit
companies.
- Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and
implement effective solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize,
and meet deadlines.
- Ability to professionally represent the organization at the
senior level and work harmoniously with diverse populations
including staff, clients, and providers.Schedule, Post of Duty, &
Travel Requirements:
- 37.5 hours weekly, primarily Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00
p.m. with occasional evening and weekend hours.
- This position is located at the Katie Building (600 South
Country Club Road, Tucson, AZ 85716).
- Occasional travel is required between PCOA locations.We offer a

bilingual-eligible position upon receiving an acceptable score on a
fluency examination.
